- Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney
Description
Position Overview
We are looking for a driven, client-centered entry-level attorney to join our team in Fort Worth. This is a rare opportunity to learn consumer bankruptcy law from the ground up at a firm that is 100% dedicated to the practice. You will work directly alongside our managing attorney on real cases from your first week — drafting petitions, meeting clients, and appearing at hearings — with close supervision and structured feedback every step of the way. If you are passionate about helping people and want to build a serious, focused practice, this is the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, and related documents
Conduct client intake consultations to assess financial situations and determine the appropriate chapter and strategy
Prepare for and attend 341 Meetings of Creditors alongside supervising attorneys
Communicate with clients, trustees, and creditors’ counsel in a professional and timely manner
Monitor case deadlines and respond to court notices, trustee requests, and plan confirmation issues
Assist with motions, objections to claims, and adversary proceedings as cases develop
Maintain organized, up-to-date case files using the firm’s case management system
Participate in regular case review meetings and ongoing training sessions with the managing attorney
Requirements

Required:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Texas, or actively awaiting bar examination results
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage a caseload of competing deadlines
Genuine commitment to serving clients experiencing financial hardship
Ability to work full-time, in-office, in Fort Worth
Preferred:
Coursework, clinic, or externship experience in bankruptcy, consumer law, or debtor/creditor rights
Familiarity with CM/ECF filing and PACER
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a significant plus
Any prior experience in a law firm setting, even as a clerk or paralegal
