Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) / Portfolio Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our 300+ family relationships and will leverage advanced financial expertise to provide strategic insights, conduct in-depth analysis, and support decision-making processes that drive organizational growth and stability. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling proficiency, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management Support & Implementation
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including forecasting and variance analysis.
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions and business strategies.
Evaluate market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments to provide actionable insights.
Monitor portfolios for alignment with stated guidelines, allocation ranges, and rebalancing parameters.
Identify portfolio variances, drift, or restrictions requiring review and escalate as appropriate.
Assist in the execution of rebalancing and portfolio adjustments consistent with documented procedures.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for investors, team members, and external stakeholders.
Assess risks and opportunities related to investments, capital allocation, and corporate finance activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Investment Research & Due Diligence
Conduct investment research and analysis on securities, investment strategies, and managers using approved methodologies and data sources.
Prepare written research materials, analysis summaries, and supporting documentation for internal review and investment committee consideration.
Monitor capital market developments and investment-related information relevant to existing strategies.
Maintain research documentation in accordance with recordkeeping and compliance requirements.
Risk Management & Oversight
Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio risk characteristics, including exposure, concentration, and liquidity considerations.
Assist in identifying potential guideline exceptions or compliance-related issues and coordinate with compliance and supervisory personnel.
Participate in periodic reviews of investment models, assumptions, and monitoring frameworks.
Adhere to internal controls, supervisory procedures, and escalation protocols.
Advisor, Client & Internal Support
Provide factual, non-promissory investment information and portfolio insights to advisors and internal stakeholders.
Support advisor and client communications by assisting with investment reports, market commentary, and educational materials.
Participate in client or advisor meetings as requested, focusing on process explanation and portfolio positioning rather than performance guarantees.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
CFA Charterholder in good standing.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
3–10+ years of experience in investment research, portfolio management support, or related investment functions (scope dependent on role level).
Working knowledge of asset allocation concepts, portfolio construction frameworks, and performance measurement.
Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and sound judgment.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within a registered investment adviser (RIA), institutional asset manager, or fiduciary investment environment.
Familiarity with portfolio accounting, reporting, and data platforms (e.g. Black Diamond, Morningstar, FactSet, Bloomberg).
Experience supporting investment committees, documented governance processes, or model portfolio frameworks.
Understanding of SEC recordkeeping, supervision, and fiduciary standards applicable to investment advisory firms.
