The Manager of CDI Quality Education is responsible overseeing the development of training content and materials for the CDI program and implementation of the CDI quality program. In This role you will ensures training practices are standardized and result in consistent outcomes as well as provide input regarding the content of policies and procedures and ensure all new and existing staff members are trained.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Oversee the development of all CDI education, training policies and procedures, and CDI reference materials.
Develop and maintain a consistent CDI operations orientation program and oversee reporting the CDS’s progress to CDI leadership.
Oversee audit functions as required to assess the CDI performance, identify knowledge gaps and assure compliance with all industry standards and departmental policies.
Assist CDI leadership with training and/or development of a performance improvement track for CDI coworkers in the corrective action process related to quality or productivity performance.
Coordinate with Quality Auditors to prepare educational material based on any external audits or feedback.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Healthcare related field - Required -OR-
Medical Doctor (MD), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) - Required
5 years CDI experience including query writing, physician education, and DRG optimization; Experience as CDI specialist, auditor, or educator with a strong foundation in clinical and coding knowledge; Experience with quality assurance, documentation auditing, and compliance monitoring - Required
3 - 5 years Acute Care Nursing - Required -OR-
MD, NP, or PA with 5 years CDI experience - Required
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) -obtained within 180 days of hire - Required
Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board - Preferred
