Description
We are looking for a new hire to join an established team of three estate administration paralegals.
Our estate administration paralegals carry out the following tasks:
- Review estate planning documents, such as Wills and Trust Agreements, upon a client’s death to gain familiarity with the passage of the estate
- Coordinate with Courts/County Clerks in various Texas counties and e-file estate documents
- Draft general correspondence and detailed letters on estate administration matters
- Review real property and financial information pertaining to an estate and prepare detailed asset reports
- Utilize valuation programs for investments
- Draft IRS Estate Tax Return and related IRS forms
- Draft estate related legal documents
Compensation commiserate with skill set and experience. Standard benefits offered with full-time position.
Requirements
Law firm experience is required as familiarity with the environment and knowledge of legal terms is necessary, however training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Applicants should have a professional demeanor and be comfortable working within a team of attorneys and paralegals, ready to assist team-members as needed, and to communicate with clients in person and via email and phone.
Time-management is key in terms of punctuality and response to attorney and client requests, as is being able to take the initiative as the new hire becomes more familiar with the workplace and office environment. Part of the paralegals’ duties are to track deadlines and maintain the estate files, requiring attention to detail, organizational skills and consistency across many estates and files.
To meet these requirements as a new hire, the successful candidate should have the following:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
- Solid word processing skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at the same time
